We recommend the following packages for youth clubs/ groups: Basic Basic plus Safari Lifecycles The Basic package is a chance to meet and handle some of our tropical gribblies and ask questions about them. The Basic Plus is our most flexible package and involves handling the animals and playing games. We think this is the package most generally suitable for youth clubs and groups because it is easily adaptable to meet the needs of a group with diverse ages and abilities. Depending upon your requirements we can offer games and crafts and even dressing up on a gribbly theme! The safari is fun if you have access to an outdoor area. It needn't be huge, but it must be accessible and the group must have permission to use it. It is possible to arrange a safari at a venue other than your own, but you must have the landowners' permission. If you have access to a pond, we can bring along a range of pond dipping equipment instead of the usual bug hunting gear. We can also help with bat and moth nights. You could make it a camouflage themed evening, with everyone dressed in camouflage clothes . We can bring along camouflage face paints too. Depending on your requirements, we can bring along a scavenger hunt, identification keys or we could just have a walk with fun and games and see if we can find a few gribblies along the way. The standard lifecycles talk is really only suitable for groups that meet most days because it includes one of our butterfly rearing kits. Although, if you would like to book a basic handling session with a lifecycles slant you can or you can request lifecycles without the rearing kit for youth groups. If you have a group that meets regularly and you would like to book a series of sessions, we recommend that you consider booking in the autumn and winter terms, rather than the busy spring and summer months. Obviously the earlier you book, the better chance you have of securing the dates that you would prefer.
